Where can I track my streak?
Web
Watch your streak grow by clicking the plant icon in the upper right corner of your dashboard. You can even schedule posts directly from your streak.

Mobile
Tap on the menu icon in the upper left of your screen. Your streak will be shown below the channel search bar.

How is a streak measured?
- A streak follows a fixed weekly schedule, starting on the day you picked as the first day of your week (Sunday or Monday) in your preferences. For example, if your "Start of Week" is set to Sunday, make sure to publish at least one post to any one of your channels by the end of the day on Saturday to maintain your streak.
- Publishing a post through Buffer consistently each week will increase your streak.
- In a given week, a non-zero streak is
- "at risk" if there are no posts scheduled or sent.
- "on track" if there is at least 1 scheduled post but no sent posts.
- "grown" if there is at least 1 sent post.
Which posts count towards a streak?
Any published post counts toward your streak, regardless of how it was published. This includes posts that were:
- Scheduled and published through Buffer
- Published natively on the social network (e.g. posting directly on Instagram, X, or LinkedIn)
- Published using your own code (via the platform’s API)
- Published through an integration, like Make or Zapier
As long as at least one post is published during your streak week, it will count toward your streak.
💡Tip: While only published posts count towards your streak, scheduling content in advance can help you plan ahead and make sure you're publishing content on a weekly basis if you don't want to break your streak.
How far back do streaks go?
When you first connect a channel to Buffer, we’ll automatically pull in (“backfill”) a set amount of your recent native post history from that network. Your streak is then calculated based on the dates of the posts we’re able to retrieve.
Here’s how much post history we can backfill per channel:
- Facebook: 50 posts
- LinkedIn: 50 posts
- Threads: 50 posts
- Bluesky: 50 posts
- Mastodon: 50 posts
- TikTok: 25 posts
- Instagram: 50 posts
- X (Twitter): up to 100 posts from the last 30 days (paid plans and trials only)
- Pinterest: up to 250 Pins from up to 1,000 boards
