How to delete posts and drafts in bulk

Need to clear things out in Buffer? You can bulk delete failed posts, empty your queue (including scheduled posts), and remove all drafts using the options below.

Clean Queue

If you'd like to remove all of the failed posts in one of your queues, you can use Clean Queue. Clean Queue will only remove failed posts from your queue. It will not impact scheduled posts that have not failed. 

To do this:

  1. Open buffer.com.
  2. Choose Channels from the left side panel.
  3. Select the channel where you'd like to remove the failed posts from. 
  4. Click the gear icon next to the channel name.

  5. Click General. 
  6. Scroll down and click Clean Queue.

  1. Click Clean Queue on the pop-up message to confirm.

Empty Queue

If you'd like to delete all posts from your queue, including both failed posts and scheduled posts, you can use Empty Queue

To do this:

  1. Open buffer.com.
  2. Choose Channels from the left side panel. 
  3. Select the channel where you'd like to empty the queue. 
  4. Click the gear icon next to the channel name.

  5. Click General. 
  6. Scroll down and click Empty Queue.

  1. Type the word 'Empty' to confirm and then click Empty Queue to complete the process.

Delete Drafts

If you want to delete all of your drafts, you can use the Delete Drafts feature.

💡Note: This will delete all drafts for the channel. Posts pending approval (in the Approvals tab) will not be impacted.

  1. Open buffer.com.
  2. Choose Channels from the left side panel. 
  3. Select the channel where you'd like to delete the drafts.
  4. Click the gear icon next to the channel name.

  1. Click General. 
  2. Scroll down and click Delete Drafts.

  1. Type the word 'Delete' into the box and then click Delete Drafts to complete the process.
