Who can join?

The Partner Program is currently in an invite-only alpha phase to selected creators, who will see a Partner tab in their Buffer account once they are accepted. If you do not see this tab, it simply means you are not part of the program yet, and we hope to open up applications more broadly in the future.

How does Buffer's Partner Program work?

1. Apply to join. Tell us a bit about yourself.
2. We will review your application. Our team personally reviews each application.
3. Once accepted, you’ll receive access to your partner space. Once we approve your application, you'll receive your unique link and access to your partner dashboard.
4. Share Buffer with your audience. Add your link to blog posts, YouTube descriptions, newsletters, social posts, or share it
5. Earn as your referrals grow. Watch your dashboard as signups roll in, and get paid monthly

How can I apply?

To apply, fill out the Partner Application Form using the same email as your Buffer account. This ensures accurate tracking between your partner dashboard and your existing Buffer profile.

How does the review process work?

Every application is manually reviewed to ensure a great fit with Buffer's brand and audience. We look for authentic creators and partners who align with our mission and values.

Once reviewed:

• You'll receive an email confirming your approval (or feedback if we're not a match yet).
• Approved partners gain access to the Dub dashboard and the full partner toolkit.

The review process typically takes a few business days.

What is Dub?

Dub is the trusted third-party affiliate tracking platform that powers the Buffer Partner Program. It provides real-time reporting, tracking, and monthly commission payments.

Once approved, you'll receive an invitation to activate your Dub account. You can then log in anytime to manage your partner activity.

What resources are available to Partners?

Partners have access to:

• A dedicated affiliate dashboard for tracking and reporting
• The Partner Kit, including creative assets and copy templates
• Ongoing educational updates via email

How do I earn as Partner?

You earn a commission for every paid customer who subscribes to Buffer using your referral link. Each time a new user becomes a paying customer, your earnings are added to your Dub dashboard. Payments then are delivered within thirty (30) days following month-end.

To help you succeed, we’ve created a Partner Kit that includes:

• Ready-to-use messaging templates
• Social post examples and visuals
• Brand assets and logos
• Tone and style guidance for authentic promotion

What information can I see about a user I refer?

To protect user privacy, partners can only view aggregated, non-personal data.

Your dashboard will show metrics like:

• Number of clicks
• Number of sign-ups
• Number of paid conversions
• Total earnings

You will not see personal information such as email addresses or names of referred users.

What can I share?

When promoting Buffer, we ask that you follow our brand and communication guidelines to keep messaging clear and authentic.

• Don’t use paid search ads on Buffer brand terms.
• Don’t create misleading or false claims.
• Always link using your official partner link from Dub.

FAQ

Do I need to be a Buffer customer to join?

Currently, we only accept partners that are already Buffer customers.

Can I promote Buffer on multiple platforms?

Yes! You can share your link wherever your audience engages with you: your website, YouTube channel, podcast, or newsletter.

What happens if someone signs up for a free plan?

You’ll earn a commission only when that person upgrades to a paid plan.

Is there a limit to how much I can earn?

There’s no cap. The more referrals you make, the more you can earn.

How do I know if my application is accepted?

We carefully reviews each application. If your application is approved, then you'll receive an email confirming your acceptance and next steps on how to get started. In most cases, applications to the Buffer Partner Program are processed within 3-5 business days.

If I delete my Buffer account, will I need to reapply for the Partner Program?

The program is currently reserved for Buffer customers only. Once your account is deleted, we’ll also remove you from the Partner program.

How are the commissions calculated?

Commissions are calculated as a percentage of the net subscription value. You’ll continue to earn as long as your referral remains a paying customer, up to 1 year. Payouts are made monthly through Dub. Learn more about our T&C here

How do Dub payouts work, and when are they issued?

Dub payouts are issued based on the customer's country location payout reward and the number of qualified signups you deliver through your link. Here's a few resources from Dub on payouts:

Can I receive payouts in USD?

For compliance reasons, Dub can only send payouts in your local currency. For example, if you are based in Australia, you will receive payouts in AUD. Learn more here

We’re excited to support our partners, and we’re here to help if you have questions about the program. Please note that partner-related inquiries are handled by a dedicated team, which operates separately from our general support.

While our regular support team typically responds within 2 hours, partner program inquiries may take up to 2 business days for a first response. This allows us to give each inquiry the detailed attention it deserves.
