How LinkedIn comments work in Community
LinkedIn pages
Comments from LinkedIn pages usually show up in Buffer within a few seconds to 1–2 minutes. This is because LinkedIn sends them to us in real time.
If comments aren’t appearing, try refreshing the channel in Buffer to re-enable updates.
LinkedIn profiles
Comments from LinkedIn profiles take longer to show up. Buffer checks for new comments about every 6 hours.
We’re working on making this faster and adding a way for you to see the last sync time and refresh manually.
đź’ˇWhy does it say "Private account" on some LinkedIn comments?
This means the commenter has a LinkedIn privacy setting that hides their name from partner apps like Buffer. It’s a LinkedIn privacy feature and works as expected.
How Bluesky comments work in Community
Bluesky uses a real-time system to send new comments to Buffer shortly after they’re posted. Most comments will appear in Buffer between a few seconds and two minutes.
Unlike with other social channels we support in the Community tab, due to Bluesky's strict API limits, we can only pull in Bluesky comments on posts published through Buffer. Therefore,
- …if you publish your Bluesky posts via Buffer, all comments will appear in your Community tab.
- …if you publish posts natively on Bluesky or through another platform, you’ll need to check your Bluesky notifications for comments on those posts.
