Scheduling reposts/retweets

Spacing out your posts is a great way to avoid flooding your X/Twitter feed. Adding reposts to your queue within Buffer allows you to share content from your community and ensures you're still providing great content to your followers, all within your preset schedule.

  1. Another quick option to schedule a repost on the web browser is to copy and paste the original post's URL directly into the Buffer composer (as long as the link is unshortened). If needed, add any commentary ahead of the copied/pasted URL and it will show as a quoted repost.

📝 Troubleshooting

If you have the Buffer Browser Extension installed and do not see the Buffer icon on posts when you are on X/Twitter, please try the following:

Schedule reposts on the mobile app

To schedule reposts on the mobile app, you will need to have the Buffer mobile app installed.

  1. Open the X/Twitter app and find a post you'd like to repost. Tap the share icon at the bottom of the post and then tap Share via.
  2. Tap the Buffer icon.
  3. The Buffer app will open, with the repostt already loaded into the composer. Feel free to add a comment to the repost if you'd like to.
  4. Make sure you have your X/Twitter account selected to share the post to, by tapping the + icon at the top of the composer and then tapping your X/Twitter account. You'll then need to tap Done or the back arrow at the top of your screen.
  5. Once you're happy with your repost, tap Share. Guidance on scheduling options can be found here.
