Daily posting limits
Social networks will sometimes block accounts due to the frequency of posting, or the duplication of content, and we're keen to avoid that as much as possible. We've built great relationships with the social networks that we integrate with, and in order to keep Buffer and our users in good standing, we do err on the side of caution when it comes to posting limits. We're keen to promote an environment of authentic sharing, and avoid spamming as much as we can.
Each social network has their own guidelines on how much content to post. For example, Facebook recommends up to five posts per day, but 25 is really the upper limit they allow without negatively impacting the reach of your posts. The posting limits we have implemented, in accordance with each social network's guidelines, are shown in the table below. These limits don't affect the number of posts you can store in your queue at any one time.
Social network | Posts per 24 hours |
25 | |
50* | |
X/Twitter | 100 |
50 | |
25 for customers who verify their email on Buffer; 5 for customers who have not verified their email |
|
TikTok | 25 |
50 | |
Start Page | Unlimited |
YouTube Shorts | 10 for unverified users. Unlimited for verified users. |
Mastodon | 100 |
📝 Please note, these limits are per 24 hour period, rather than per calendar day.
*Instagram daily limit includes posts, reels, and stories sent within a 24 hour period.
