Using Insights on the Buffer mobile app
Want to check how your content is performing without opening a laptop? Insights is now available right in the Buffer mobile app, so you can get a quick pulse-check on your channels between posts, wherever you are.
:::info 📝 Notes:
- Looking for the desktop version? See Using Insights in Buffer.
- This covers the Buffer for Android and iOS apps.
:::
Opening Insights on the mobile app
-
Open the Buffer Android or iOS app.
-
Tap Insights at the bottom of the app.
-
At the top of the app, select All channels or a specific channel to see performance data for that view.
What you can see in mobile Insights
- Date range filter. Choose from Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Month to date, and ⭐ Last month (paid plans only). There's no Custom range option on mobile.
- Filtering. Filter by Tags, or view an individual channel. The All Channels view doesn't support filtering by multiple channels at once the way web Insights does.
- Summary. Top-line stats for the period, including Posts, Total Followers, and Reactions, each with a percentage change from the previous period.
- Channel performance. In the All Channels view, toggle between Posts, Reactions, Comments, and Engagement rate to see a breakdown across your channels.
- Followers, Posts, and Top posts. On an individual channel, these sections show follower trends and your top-performing posts, similar to the Performance per Post table on web.
:::info 📝 Notes
- Mobile Insights doesn't include AI-powered Takeaways, or exporting your data (CSV, Markdown, PDF, or Download Snapshots). These are web-only for now.
- Insights on mobile supports the same channels as web: Instagram (Professional accounts), Facebook Pages, X/Twitter, LinkedIn Pages and Profiles, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube, Mastodon, and Substack. Google Business Profiles and Start Page aren't supported due to API limitations.
- Substack support in the Buffer iOS app is arriving with an upcoming app update. Until it's available, you can check your Substack stats in Insights on the web or in the Buffer Android app. Keep your iOS app updated to get it as soon as it's live.
- Substack doesn't share follower counts, so the Total Followers card will show 0 for a Substack channel. Learn more in Using Substack on the Buffer mobile app.
- Small discrepancies between what you see in Buffer and what you see natively on Instagram, Facebook, or other platforms are normal. See Why your data in Buffer Insights might look different from native analytics.
💡 Tip: For the full set of charts, filters, and export options, use the web version of Insights. See Using Insights in Buffer.

FAQ
Why don't I see the Insights tab in my app?
Insights is now available to everyone on both Android and iOS, accessed from a dedicated tab in the bottom navigation bar. If you still don't see it, try updating the Buffer app to the latest version.
Can I export my Insights data from the mobile app?
Not yet. Exporting Insights data as a CSV, Markdown, or PDF file, or downloading snapshots, isn't available in the mobile app on any plan. Head to the web or desktop version of Insights to export your data. See Using Insights in Buffer.
Some of the metrics on the web version of Insights aren’t available in the mobile app, is that normal?
Yes, that's expected if the mobile release doesn't yet include every metric or view available on the web. See "What you can see in mobile Insights" above for what's included today.
