Continue a post from your iPhone on your Mac with Handoff
:::info This feature is currently in Beta. Learn more about how to test Buffer's Beta features here. :::
If you start writing a post in Buffer on your iPhone, you can pick up right where you left off on your Mac using Apple's Handoff feature. Your draft carries over automatically, so there's no need to save it and reopen it manually on your other device.
How it works
- Start writing a post in the Buffer app on your iPhone.
- On your Mac, look for the Buffer Handoff icon in the Dock.
- Click the Dock icon to resume your draft.
If you have the Buffer macOS app installed, it will open there with your draft in place. If you don't have the macOS app installed, your draft will open in the Composer in your default browser instead.
What you need
Handoff is an Apple feature, so both devices need to meet Apple's own requirements for Handoff to work, such as being signed into the same Apple ID and having Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on. If your draft doesn't appear on your Mac, check that Handoff is working between your devices generally before reaching out to Buffer support.
