Saving custom views in Buffer

If you find yourself reapplying the same filters every time you open Buffer, Saved Custom Views can help. A saved view captures your current filter settings (channels, tags, status, view mode, date range, and more) as a named shortcut in your sidebar, so you can jump back to that exact combination with a single click.

What are saved views?

A saved view is a shortcut to a specific combination of section and filters in Buffer. For example, "Drafts pending approval on LinkedIn" or "Sent posts for the Acme client across all channels." Save it once and it shows up in your sidebar so you can return any time without re-applying filters.

Saved views work across Publish, Create, Community, and Insights.

Saving a custom view

  1. Open Publish, Create, Community, or Insights and apply the filters you want (channel, status, tag, view mode, date range, etc.).
  2. Click the bookmark icon on the page.
  3. Give the view a name and save.

Finding and using your saved views

Saved views appear in the Views section of your sidebar, above your channels. Click any view to jump back to that filtered state instantly.

✨ You can also jump to any saved view from anywhere in Buffer using Command-K (⌘K / Ctrl+K) and searching for the view's name.

Renaming, deleting, or reordering views

To rename or delete a view, click the three dots (⋯) next to its name in the sidebar and choose Rename or Delete. To change the order, drag a view up or down in the list (or use keyboard navigation: space to lift, arrow keys to move, space to drop). The new order saves automatically.

What filters can be saved?

Section Saveable filters
Publish Channel, tag, status, date, calendar granularity (day/week/month)
Create Tag, idea group
Community Channel, status, published date, sort order
Insights Channel, tag, date range (Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Month to date, Last month, Custom), comparison (e.g. previous period, previous month, previous year)

📝 Note: In Insights, both single-channel and All Channels pages support saved views. The Compare to filter is saved alongside the date range, so reopening a saved view restores both.

Notes on shared organizations

Saved views are scoped to your individual user account within an organization. They are not shared with other team members, and they are cleaned up automatically if you are removed from an organization. You can save up to 25 views per organization.
