Scheduling reminders for your TikTok posts on mobile

After many requests and valuable feedback, we're excited to share that you now have the ability to schedule your TikTok videos with our new reminders feature! This will all sound very familiar if you've used reminders for Instagram!

With TikTok reminders, you can easily upload your content in the Buffer app, schedule when you'd like to share your post, and we'll send you a push notification when it is time for your post to be published. Once the notification comes through, you can simply paste your caption and upload your video seamlessly within TikTok! Easy right?

💡Your Questions Answered

  • Can Buffer publish my videos to TikTok automatically?
    The reminders feature does not publish posts automatically to TikTok. However, this feature helps you better manage your posts and share them seamlessly with reminders!
  • Do I need to connect my TikTok account to Buffer in order to use this feature?
    The reminders feature operated independently from TikTok, so you don't need to add it as an additional social channel in the app. The good news? Since you won't connect your TikTok account to Buffer, using TikTok reminders won't increase the cost of your Buffer plan.
  • Is the reminder feature available on the web app?
    Currently, this feature is only available on mobile. We're exploring potentially making this feature available on the web in the future.
  • Is this a free feature?
    This feature is free and available on all Buffer accounts, regardless of whether you're on a paid plan or a Free plan.

Scheduling and Publishing your TikTok reminders on iOS

    1. Open the Buffer app and tap the sandwich icon located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to access the main menu. Underneath your connected social channels, scroll down to Reminders and tap the TikTok option.

    2. On the next screen, tap on the blue Schedule button to begin scheduling your TikTok reminder. Additionally, you can view any previous reminders on this screen by tapping on the Past tab located at the top of the screen.

    3. Now that you're ready to schedule your reminder, you can upload your video, add a caption, then click Next.

    4. In the following screen, you can choose the date and time you would like to schedule your reminder.

    5. It's time to publish your post! At the date and time you selected when you scheduled your TikTok reminder, you will receive a mobile push notification. Tap the notification to open the reminder on the Buffer app where you can quickly copy your caption by tapping Copy. Afterward, tap the blue Open TikTok button to open TikTok.

    6. In TikTok, tap the + icon to create and share your post!

📝 Good to Knows

  • Because there is no TikTok integration on Buffer, none of your scheduled reminders will display in your calendar on mobile. To view any current or previous reminders, you can check them by tapping on TikTok from under the Reminders option in the main menu.
  • Videos are not centrally uploaded to Buffer, so if you're trying to access the same account from different devices (i.e. on a phone or an iPad) or if multiple people share a login, the reminder may come through a device that does not have the video you would like to upload.

Scheduling your TikTok reminders on Android

  1. Open the Buffer app on your mobile device and tap the round avatar icon at the top-left corner to access the main menu. Underneath your connected social channels, scroll down to Reminders and tap TikTok.

  2. In the next screen, tap on the blue pencil button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to begin scheduling your TikTok reminder. Additionally, you can view any previous reminders in this screen by tapping on the Past tab located at the top of the screen.

  3. Now that you're ready to schedule your reminder, you can upload your video, add a caption, then click Schedule.

  4. In the following screens, you can choose the date and time you would like to schedule your reminder.

  5. It's time to publish your post! At the date and time you selected when you scheduled your TikTok reminder, you will receive a mobile push notification. Tap the notification to open the reminder on the Buffer app where you can quickly copy your caption. Afterward, tap Open in TikTok to open the TikTok app.

  6. In TikTok, tap the + icon and share your post!
