Connecting your social channels to Buffer Analyze

Buffer Analyze currently supports Facebook Pages, Instagram business accounts, Twitter profiles and LinkedIn Pages. Instagram business accounts must be connected to a Facebook Page in order to work with Analyze.

📝 Please note, due to API limitations, we are only able to pull Facebook and Instagram data into Analyze for accounts that have 100 or more followers. Whilst it's technically possible to connect accounts that have fewer than 100 followers, no data will be available.

This article contains the following sections:

  2. Common questions

Connecting your social channels

  1. We recommend first logging into the social channel you'd like to connect. For example, if you're connecting a Twitter profile, start by logging into that profile, or if you're connecting a Facebook Page, start by logging into the Facebook profile that is an admin on the Page you're looking to connect.

  2. Click Manage Channels at the bottom left of your dashboard. Alternatively, click on your profile avatar at the top right of your dashboard and then click on Settings.

  3. The Analyze settings area will open in a new tab. Click the Add Social Channel drop down and then select Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn.

  4. The remaining steps are different for each type of channel. Please continue the steps in the relevant section below:

Common questions

I don't see my Facebook page listed. What should I do?

First, check that you have the correct Page role. Your personal Facebook profile will need to be an admin on that Page. Learn more about Page roles here.

If you have the correct Page role and it's still not listed when walking through the connection steps in this guide, it means that Analyze does not have the required permissions from Facebook. To resolve this, please follow these reauthorization steps and then try connecting your Page again.

I don't see my Instagram account listed. What should I do?

If you don't see your Instagram account listed, this is likely due to your Instagram account being a personal profile rather than a business account, or your Instagram business account not being connected to a Facebook Page. Follow the steps here to convert your Instagram account to a business account and ensure it is connected to a Facebook Page. Afterwards, you should see it listed.
